Oscar Gangshei Dies After Series of Heart Attacks
Oscar Gangshei, a Clifton resident and World War I veteran, died February 8 after a long illness. Funeral services were held February 10 at Trinity Lutheran Church, with Lt. Erickson Post 322 providing military honors. He was born February 14, 1088, in the Norse community near Clifton.

Meridian Girls Claim Third Bosque County Tournament Title
The Meridian girls win the Bosque County Championship for the third straight year, edging Cranfills Gap 3 to 4802 in the final two minutes after a tight tournament finish. Cranfills Gap defeated Mosheim Thursday and Iron Koppers Friday to reach the finals. Meridian went undefeated in the double elimination event. Attendance topped each night as Cranfills Gap notes net proceeds over 200 after expenses.
