Hugh Odle of Meridian died February 10 1946 in Clifton after a life spanning Bosque County. Born October 28 1862 in Bosque County to John Sr and Lucinda Odle he lived most of his life in Meridian. He worked in real estate and farming, served on the first Texas State Highway Commission, aided county road and school progress, and supported students’ education. He married Mattie Pedigo in 1884 who died in 1939. He was the last surviving Odle of his generation and was buried in Meridian Cemetery after services conducted by Rev B L McCord.
