Newt Fallis is ill this week while Clifton reports widespread sickness. Connolly's Groceries plans to reopen about Feb 1 and promotes fresh goods. Price & Walton advertise school supplies, candies, cigars, and line of soaps as well as glassware and canning items from Dittrich Bros. and Rea. Many residents and visiting locals are cited.
A historic school resolution notes the death of J B Cooper born 1885 died 1905. It praises his obedience diligence and friendship and calls for copying resolutions to the family and Clifton Record while pledging emulation of his virtues and sympathy for relatives.
Dr Craven an oculist from Waco will visit Clifton Feb 9 at Nelson House offering eye tests and glasses fitting with up to date methods. He travels by Santa Fe day trains and will stay until Feb 10. Come early on arrival to complete examinations.
Ivangulst Birdwell preaches a men only sermon titled Going Farther Away to a large male audience. A women only service and a general Everybody's service are set for Sunday at 10 45 AM and 3 PM respectively in the Saloon building with a farewell evening service to close the Removal. Crowds attend despite the cold.
The Texas Telephone Company installed a top rated switchboard in the town last week. Local manager O B Smith earned praise for expanding a small venture into a leading paying business in the area.
