Beaten and robbed Rev G F Kornegay near Brownwood

Reverend George F. Kornegay 66, a commissioner for homes for retired ministers of the Central Texas Methodist Conference, was beaten and robbed early Wednesday by five youths after they gave him a ride from Brownwood. He stopped near Cr nan on Wigtaway for directions when the assault occurred. Authorities described the assailants as five youths unknown at this time.

Meridian man seeks Bosque County Clerk post

Riley Barch of Meridian announces his candidacy for County Clerk of Bosque County. He is the son of Mr and Mrs Homer Barch of Meridian and recently returned from three years and four months in the U S Navy Air Corps. He previously clerked for the Federal Housing Administration in Washington DC and Dallas Texas. While in DC he attended National University Law School and in Dallas attended Southern Methodist University at night studying county and state government. He asks for voters support and vote.

Wyatt T. McFadden Dies Friday January 25 1946

Wyatt T. McFadden died near Clifton on January 25 1946 after years of invaliding born June 14 1882 in Bosque County He leaves wife Ida and ten children including Ollie T Andrew Alfred Julian Harvey and others plus two adopted daughters Funeral services were held January 28 at Clifton Baptist Church conducted by Reverend P De Young, with burial at local cemetery.
