Marlin Texas December 19 Prices for pulling automobiles from the mud hole on the King of Trails highway between Marlin and Reagan have been reduced from 10.00 to 2.50. J H Primmins set up two range wagons near the mudhole and posted the price. He also stationed a man and four mules on the job eight hours daily. A man with one team recently earned 600 pulling cars from the hole. Some instances saw prices as high as 25 in the past. The bad road section will be repaired as soon as weather allows.
Mr Joe Wise assistant cashier at Fire Guaranty State Bank wed Miss Paola Dorbritz last Saturday night at the home of the bride’s parents Mr and Mrs Paul Dorbritz. Rev W H Bowie officiated and the couple entered to the wedding march. A reception followed with fruit salad, cake and toffee as the menu.
Washington on December 18 reports that a cow in Wizard, Washington, found with government dynamite survived but led to a House vote approving a sixty dollar claim for its owner. Negligence by road builders was cited as the cause. the event disrupted proceedings even as the cow remained unharmed.
