J N Helton born January 14 1844 died December 19 1928 at his Clifton home after a brief illness attributed to age. He lived mainly in Texas near Meridian Bosque County and in Edgewood Addition Clifton with brother J W Helton. Survived by two brothers J K and J W Helton and many nieces and nephews. Funeral held at nephew Ross Helton’s home with Rev Frank Nixon officiating. interment Meridian cemetery.

Clifton farmers seek Borden milk plant in town
A Clifton meeting of farmers and business leaders discussed bringing a Borden milk plant to town. Mayor Ed Handley chaired, Fred W. Nelson named secretary. Borden requires 2,000 gallons daily for 90 consecutive days within two years, no bonus, otherwise machinery may be removed.

Clifton Public will dismiss Friday at four o'clock until Monday morning December 31 for Christmas recess. Morning chapel programs at 8:25 led by Miss Margaret Grammer run daily for student training, with visitors welcome. Several pupils out with colds or flu. Faculty dinner hosted by the second year home economics class. Miss Mary McElroy attended a regional home economics conference in Waco. A one act play by boys vs girls drew a small audience due to cold weather, seniors may repeat later.
