W. E. Mahaney Dead in Clifton Area
W E Mahaney died at his home on Basy street Tuesday morning after a residence in Bosque county for twelve years. Funeral services were held at the residence by Geo Kerrigay and Rev S Sansom, with burial in Clifton cemetery. He is survived by his wife and two sons, one in Beaumont with Armour Co. and another on a farm near Clifton. The Record extends condolences to the family.

Passing Away of Aged Citizen Whitney
An aged resident, SG Whitney, died Friday morning at Clifton after months of illness and a paralytic condition. Born February 6, 1840 in Gardiner Maine, he served in the Union Army and was a Civil War veteran. He moved to Rosane County Texas after marriage to Jeanie M. Chase and remained a longtime, esteemed member of the First Church. Funeral services were conducted at the residence with clergy, and many prominent citizens attended, reflecting his good life and sturdy character.
