Meridian resident Pick Parks visiting his sister Mrs J W Standeter among locals. Waco trip by WW Todd. Mrs J Allen of Walnut Springs visiting relatives. Mr Combs of Mineral Wells in town visiting son. School teachers Mixsea Ellis and Pear Campbell from Cranfill Gap visited home. Dr J M Gore on professional trip to Kimball and Blum. Bettie Russell of Blum visiting Gore family. Robinson sworn in as county treasurer and moved to old Methodist parsonage. Commissioners court held session and bonds approved. Christian and wife of Valley Mills in town. Judge Locked opened district court with a roster of bailiffs. Various locals listed with social visits and marriages licensed.
Local readers report a new Clifton eatery alluding to oysters and fish with short orders available at all hours. Jowls and Tewxman promise friendly service next to the old Anderson building. Mrs Ernest Anz dies of heart failure near town. funeral services held at the Clifton cemetery with Rev Plundt presiding.
Mrs Mary E Bradstreet born Mary Kelsey May 14 187? in Ohio died aged about 74. She settled in Bosque County Texas in 1877 with husband Milton Bradstreet and outlived him and friends. A Methodist all her life she was a faithful wife mother and friend. She leaves two sons Harry and Frank Bradstreet and several grandchildren. Funeral held Friday November 5 in Clifton Cemetery with many relatives and friends attending.
A notice advertises mules for sale or trade including a pair of young mediei wood males for wale or a night take and pair of ponies with a good cow in trade. It promotes the Christmas Tree sale at Womack's stand by the Presbyterian Aid Society on Friday and Saturday December 10th with gifts for all.
In town a new barber shop opens upstairs in the Fricke building offering haircuts for 25 cents and shaves for 15 cents. Proprietor James Hout announces the opening and invites patrons to visit.
J D Nance will oversee operations while I am away due to my wife’s serious illness and her Dallas treatment. I did not buy the Clifton Light plant to trade or wall but to run and improve service. I hope to move my family to Clifton soon and restore full personal attention to the business.
