Gip Smith Bankers Death Echoes Bosque County Leader
Gip Smith a 70 year old banker ranchman and Confederate veteran died Thursday at 6 pm at the home of his daughter Mrs F E Me 1725 Morrow Street in Waco. He chaired the First National Bank of Whitney and served as VP of the Central Texas Exchange Trust Company while holding major ranch interests near Roswell and in Crosby County. He traveled to Waco with his daughters two weeks before his death and his body was sent to Whitney for burial at Boswell cemetery Friday afternoon.
