Parsonage Harvest Robbery Turns Friendly Supper into Welcome Feast
A Parsonage was attacked at dusk with a final assault at 7 pm. The invaders demanded surrender and filled the dining table with fruits, meats, pickles, syrups, and sugar as a welcome gift. W. J. Mayhew and family express thanks and cite a civic message. A Civic Improvement Society meeting is announced for December 4 at city hall.

Father and Son Die in Tragic County Death Duo
Tragic news from a Clifton area community reports Louis Conrad and his 15 year old son Adolph dying within hours of each other after the boy fell ill with spinal meningitis. Authorities say the father drank carbolic acid and died beside the wagon shed after kneeling by the bedsides in prayer. Louis, aged 57 to 60, left a large real estate estate and thirteen children, with five sons and four daughters surviving his grief stricken wife. A double funeral was held by Rev Pfundt at the German Lutheran Church, bodies interred in the Lutheran Cemetery amid a large crowd.

Thanksgiving Observed in Clifton With Stores Closed
Clifton observed Thanksgiving with the day resembling a Sunday as stores closed and residents enjoyed health and prosperity. Union services gathered at the Presbyterian church where Rev. W. J. Mayhew delivered a fitting sermon. The community shared cheerful hospitality and goodwill.
