Mr and Mrs Jaman Walter Townley announce the marriage of their daughter Mint Roth to Ray Worth Berry Chief Petty Officer in the United States Navy on Friday August 24 1945 in Hayward California. Reverend Father Farrar of the First Baptist Church officiated. Mrs Berry wore a formal gown with black and white accessories.

Sudden Death Shocks Clifton As Man Dies At Home
Last Thursday afternoon August 23 Dallas visitor Hudron Greene died at the home of Mr. and Mrs. D. C. Caraway in Clifton before a doctor could arrive. Greene, a film machine operator by trade, had often visited Clifton residents in years past. He and his sister Mrs. Greene had come from Dallas for a visit when illness struck. Police or family notes state the death occurred about three o'clock with the physician summoned after the alarming condition, and Greene died roughly forty minutes before the planned medical arrival. The body was removed to the Monticello cemetery for interment.

Oscar Knudson Awaiting Redeployment From Europe
Private first class Oscar E. Knudson, 16, an instrument specialist in a Jack Death A 26 Invader squadron, awaits redeployment to the Pacific from Camp Chicago near Reims. He is husband of Mrs. Oscar E. Knudson of Dallas Texas and served with a Ninth Bombardment Division unit under Major Munlay O. Richmond. The squadron supported Allied drives from D-Day to VE-Day, earned a Presidential Unit Citation, and flew 294 bombing missions in Europe over 16 months. He previously worked for Potash Co. of America in Carlsbad New Mexico and graduated Clifton College.

Bosque County reports 13 servicemen returning to civilian life this week including W Weldon Vickrey Mosholm W Aimer Greer Morgan James Rogers Meridian and others from Clifton Valley Mills Koppert and Morgan. Over 300 locals registered with the Bosque Local Board and many served before the draft with about 200 in service or reserve prior to registration.
