Clifton Public School announces entrance examinations for grades four through eleven at the high school gym. Students failing subjects or not promoted should attend promptly. New classifications will be made for returning and new students, with book returns and notes on curriculum, coaching, and local hires.
Mrs Travie B Grimland will open her studio in the High School Building on Monday September 1. Private tutors offer improved study systems for beginners and progressive music. Telephone 68 for information.
The picnic drew a large enthusiastic crowd enjoying a break from daily life. Races and the J Dall game drew interest with Crandil Gay defeating Nerve 5 to 4. The Parcel Post Sale was a valuable addition. Prof. n and Mayor Sehow spoke. rain prevented Dr. Eby from arriving. Snyder, Texas sent word of rain and bad roads. The Clifton College Alam Civic Improvement Society meets Sept. 1 at 4 PM with Mrs. C. P. Pederson.
County Court convened and heard numerous cases including garnishments and notes. Dismissals and continuances favored debt and damages actions. several defendants pleaded guilty or defaulted with fines or bond adjustments. multiple cases scheduled for August 10 and October terms. Names include Bosque county defendants and Meridian merchants, with state cases ranging from assault to vagrancy and fornication.
A stormy Tuesday night home visit by Mr and Mrs W J Lopez ended with a road trip through Clifton and nearby hubs as two highwaymen appeared briefly. Revival services now fill the Lawn at the Clifton Methodist Church with Rev A B Lowrey delivering strong sermons and Bro Clark leading the revival. Special services scheduled for Sunday include an 11 o clock session and a 4 00 pm men’s service with Rev Lewey Bassom guiding.
Cranfills Gap August news notes a 6 to 4 local win over Norse in a baseball game, with pitcher Hed Tergereon delivering 20 strikeouts and Caputeson on mound for Norse. Julia Burreson and Andrew Burreson gain attention in Welant Springs. Walter Most plans college aimed at his talent. Community events include a calf show planning for October 17 and a Beet Club with County Agent L. Le Johnson coordinating youth participation. Dr. and Mrs. P. C. Plosmeke vacationing at Corpus Christi. Waco trip for Cranfills Gap ladies at Providence Hantiartam. Margaret Bronstad’s tonsil and adenoid removal. Eloy Weld’s second operation after a wheely incident.
