Gas Tank Explosion Damages Bottling Works
In Gatesville last Monday around four o clock a steel drum of liquid carbonic gas exploded at Coca Cola Bottling Works. The blast wrecked the office area and a crown case damaging a typewriter and chair. Milner had just left the chair to help unload a truck. Neuman and Spence were nearby but unharmed. The blast is blamed on a drum defect.

Rest in Peace Martha Colwick of Bosque County
Martha Mary Jenson Colwick died after twelve o'clock Wednesday night August 12 at age sixty seven. Born October 27, 1857 at Gary Creek she was the ninth of Jens Jenson's children. She married John Colwick August 14, 1879 and they had nine children seven surviving: Ove John James Thomas Anne Orbeck Fred Matson Noble Marion Clarence Monroe Carla Davis. Survived by ten grandchildren, she had been ill about a month and requested the Lord's Supper which was given by Rev. J K Rystad. funeral by Rev. Rystad and Rev. Larson. pallbearers were nephews.

Meridan arrests for grocery theft at Robertson station
Two men and two women were jailed in Meridian last Friday on a complaint by H. M. Robertson of a few miles south of Clifton charging theft of about $70 worth of groceries inner tubes and other articles from the Robertson filling station near the Neill's Creek bridge on the Meridian Highway. City Marshal A. S. Howard and Constable W. H Raley of Valley Mills detained the party and made the arrests.

Car crash injures Vicksburg boys and girl near Meridian
A coupe with an all steel body carrying two Vicksburg boys and a little girl from Mosesheim skidded on gravel on the Meridian Highway south of Meridian Sunday afternoon August 9.
