Hansen Silver Wedding Celebrated At Home
On August 2 1931 Mr and Mrs H F Hansen marked their 25th wedding anniversary at their country home. Guests numbered many friends and relatives with seven of their original sixteen attendants present. Relatives served punch and cookies as the couple wore their wedding outfits from twenty five years prior. The ceremony featured Bible readings, a ritual reading, songs by Anita Hansen Caroline Belle and Levi Swenson and remarks by family friends. The cake was cut with a silver knife and the couple thanked guests for gifts and good wishes.

Home of Mr and Mrs Fallis Destroyed by Fire
The brick home of Mr. and Mrs. J N Fallis in this city and nearly all their belongings were lost in a 3:30 AM Saturday fire of unknown origin. Mr. Fallis, alone at home, was aided by firefighters who contained the blaze, with his ankle sprained during the frantic rescue. Insurance partially covers the property. neighbors offer sympathy for the heavy loss and memories of a prior fire on the same lot years ago.

Country Home Fire Destroys Clifton Residence
A rural home eight miles northeast of Clifton owned by Mrs. E. Krueger and occupied by her son Bob Zuehike and family was destroyed by a fire of unknown origin Monday morning around five. The family escaped with few belongings, and only a small amount of fire insurance was carried on the building. The loss is substantial, as the home was one of the area’s better rural properties.
Carl Frehse 87 Laid to Rest in Clifton Cemetery
Carl Frehse of Los Angeles former Clifton resident died August 1 1931 at an old folks home in California. Born May 21 1844 in Mecklenburg Schwerin he came to America in 1884 and lived near Clifton about 40 years. He bequeathed his estate to the Clifton institution for care. Survived by three stepdaughters Mesdames Gohlke Manske and Bracher. Funeral at Immanuel Lutheran Church Clifton with Rev G A Obenhaus officiating. Funeral cortege traveled from Los Angeles with his step granddaughter Miss Bracher.
