A major blaze in McGregor caused extensive damage to Amber and Company lumber and hardware, two brick buildings including the hardware department, and nearby storage. Cattle and mules suffered losses, with stock and buildings damaged or destroyed. The City Mule Barn and Davis and Bloodworth Mule Barn sustained heavy hit, while no injuries were reported. Insurance status unclear and fire crews battled flames from 1:30 PM to after 4 PM.
