Bobby Dodd Jr. of Gatesville joined the Clifton Police Department Monday, succeeding Terry D. Wolfe who resigned. Dodd has 480 hours of law enforcement training and four years of sheriff and city police service, is married with three sons, and was born and educated in Brownwood.

Clifton CISD approves higher adult meal prices and bus fees
The Clifton Independent School District board raised breakfast for adults from 30 to 45 cents and lunch from 65 to 85 cents for the 1977-78 year. Progress on Fair exhibits building in heat wave
The Exhibits Building at the fair grounds reached the foundation stage a 45 by 75 foot structure. Clyde Outlaw and his sons Tim and Claude and Gary Steenblock worked, trenching for beams and placing steel reinforcement rods on 16 inch centers. A tour of the Hog Creek floodwater retarding structure in Bosque County is set for Tuesday August 9 at 2 30 p m Meet at the Mosheim Community Center The project is being built by Adams Brothers Construction Inc of Athens and is located about 1 75 miles north and 2 25 miles west of Mosheim The Hog Creek Watershed Association sponsors with Bosque Coryell McLennan County Soil and Water Conservation Districts and county commissioners courts supporting the effort.

Clifton volunteers battle three grass fires
