A miscellaneous bridal shower was held Tuesday afternoon May 11 from 1 to 6 o clock at the M. J. Mickelson home in Cranille for Mrs Jack J. Purcell formerly Miss Juliette Hohne hosted by Miss Burma Wood and Marine Christensen. Guests registered in the bride’s book and offered advice. The dining room featured green and yellow decor while lemonade and cakes were served by Burma Wood and Marianne Christensen. The bride arrived in a blue and white sport dress with white accessories, accompanied by her mother Mrs Over Rohne and sisters Mrs Jim Jensen Olga and Cora Rohne. Farmers Plow Up Snicker' Crop Destruction Report
In Alexandria Louisiana this week unidentified individuals destroyed five to seven acres of Ellis Scroggs crop along the Markeville river road fifteen miles below the city. The cotton plants were uprooted and reported by Scroggs who claimed about sixty five bales remained in the field.
