Funeral for Surlee to be conducted by Ned the master
For 26 years Surlee had been present for his own death in the month of April, preparing his funeral and cemetery lot. He visited kin and relatives last week and invited them to the service which he predicted would be sooner than expected. Saturday he told his employer Russell Godwich that his time had come and he went home to arrange. He became ill and died at 2:20 pm. Dr J R Johnson found no cause and ruled death by self action impossible.
