Conrad Family Helps Shape Chase Community Bosque County
The Louis Conrad family settled in Chase, northeast of Clifton, Bosque County, in 1883 joining August Bernhardt and others. They cleared fence land, faced roaming cattle, and built a log house before purchasing 100 acres near Childress Creek. The community organized around Zion Evangelical Reformed Church at Womack, with Conrads and neighbors active in church, civic, and school affairs as the town developed.
