Clifton teams topped the Regional 3-B meet in Denton with Freddie Boecker taking number sense and Joann Case with Darlene Keley winning girls doubles tennis for District 34-B. They advance to the State Inter scholastic Meet in Austin May 6.

Spring Festival Presented by Clifton Students

Clifton Public Schools will stage U. S. S. Slumber Boat by first six grades at 7 30 Thursday night May 5 in Bettis Auditorium. Ben Byrum Former Bosque Resident Dies in Stamford

Ben Byrum brother of Ed Byrum of Star Route 1 Clifton died Tuesday night April 19 at Stamford. Funeral services were held at Coon Creek Church and Cemetery east of Clifton on Thursday April 21. He moved from Bosque County about 20 years ago and lived most of his time in Stamford. He had been ill for some time. Mrs Byrum plans to move to Fort Worth.

Clifton Girl Scout Mother-Daughter Tea Celebrated

The second annual Clifton Girl Scout Mother-Daughter Tea was held last Saturday afternoon in the Bettis Auditorium. About 100 mothers and daughters attended a program led by Troop II with Mrs. Canady delivering a welcome. Troops I IV and IX presented readings songs games and skits while mothers joined on stage for selections and the Hokey Pokey. Refreshments with orchid iris decor followed in the high school cafeteria.

Postmaster Announces Delivery Extension in Clifton Areas

Clifton postmaster A. L. Bronstad reports city delivery will extend effective May 9, 1955 to new Clifton home sections. Residents must number houses and provide acceptable mail receptacles and notify the postmaster if delivery is desired. Extra Load Permits To Be Issued Here In Clifton

The Texas State Highway Department announces a Clifton permit office opening May 2 in Clifton City Hall with T. H. Ralph Sr. and Mrs. Frank M. Smith in charge to issue oversize and overweight vehicle permits up to 10 feet wide and 75 feet long. The office runs 8 AM to 5 PM weekdays.

Mrs Lena Linberg Dies Here at 87 in Clifton

Mrs Lena Linberg aged 87 years 3 months 27 days died at the Clifton Lutheran Sunset Home about 1 30 am following a heart attack after a recent fall. Her husband the late John Linberg preceded her in death. Funeral services were held April 28 at the Clifton Funeral Chapel with Rev A C Lane of Waco officiating. Interment was in Clifton Cemetery. A full obituary will appear next week.

Clifton market prices for poultry grain cattle and hogs

Thursday morning prices list eggs per dozen in No 1 No 2 and pullet grades cream eggs and price ranges for local hens. Milling and feed wheat oats maize barley and yellow corn quoted per bushel or cwt. About 400 cattle offered with active market good and choice butcher stock steady but plain cattle weaker. Hog top reached 16.75.
