Lake Whitney fishing weekend reports mixed as storms drive anglers off
Threatening weather on Lake Whitney sent some fishermen home but those who stayed hauled in mainly sandies with a few big yellows and blacks. Trotliners reported yellows from 16 to 43 pounds and a 7 pound testline yielded a 4 pound yellow cat. Sandies surfaced best on artificial bait with hauls of 100 to 300 fish. a 5 pound black was taken on artificial bait. A few 2.5 to 4 pound fish also hit lures as the lake sits at 514.14 feet, nearly six feet low.
