Norwegians of Minnesota remembered in Clifton area history
A Norweigian settler story recounts Cleng Peerson and the pioneer Norwegians of Bosque County near Clifton. It notes Peerson lifetimes, their journeys from Austin on foot, and their role in founding the Norwegian Settlement. The piece highlights Peerson as a catalyst for the modern Norwegian exodus and Minnesota immigrant patterns, including Knute Nelson’s involvement and the 19th century Norwegian national history.
