The Callere Chorus wraped up its pre Easter season with a Palm Sunday concert in the auditorium. It marked their eighth appearance of the season and featured Gabriel songs. Miss Emily Baxt, popular principal at the Cooper School, received a surprise shower on Saturday April 18 at the home of Mrs. Mamie Golden. The event honored Baxt with best wishes and celebration.
Mr. W. Chase of Clarendon died Sunday after a heart attack. Born December 23, 1847 in Canaan Maine, he moved to Wisconsin then Texas, ranching in Bosque and later helping run the Clebourne waterworks before settling in Clarendon. He was eighty seven, survived by a wife, daughter, granddaughter, and other relatives.
Tuesday evening April 16 an Int. Bn Hilgs Guard Company held a gathering in the Armory with Cpl Hama preparing the meal. Lt Westley led discussions as members of the organization shared opinions on incident related matters amid camp preparations and field conditions.
