Austin March 2 Three bills passed by the legislature were vetoed by Governor Neff. The vetoed measure allocates 125000 to match federal vocational training funds under the Smith Hughes act, deemed defective and to be resubmitted in a special session. Another bill gives defendants 30 days after a motion for a new trial is denied before payment of fines. A third bill would authorize county auditors to audit district school books.

The City Hall mass meeting Tuesday night selected P. E. Sehow for mayor and G. Bronstad with D. A. Platt as aldermen. They currently serve well and have agreed to seek reelection. Vote April 5.

Hamilton Texas March 29 The Hamilton county grand jury in session eleven days adjourned returning 272 indictments 248 misdemeanors and 24 felonies. Charges include gaming forgery burglary theft of over 50 selling intoxicating liquor and seduction. The next thirteen court days promise hard fought cases for the decade.

Ernest Johler and Rosa Knuat of the Womack community were married last Sunday afternoon at the Womack church with Rev Pfandt officiating. The bride, daughter of Mr and Mrs Kuust, is described as charming and popular. The couple left for a brief honeymoon in south Texas after the ceremony.
Mrs Neff, mother of Governor Pat M. Neff, is a beloved figure at her Thursday afternoon at homes. At 90 years old she knits and sews, still threads her own needle, and enjoys telling stories of her past as a Texas schoolteacher. Mass meeting Tuesday night at City Hall announced trustees nominees: Tom Parks, G. Polk, M. O. B. Roebuck, H. P. Jenson, R. K. Waldrop and J. G. Lane. The first three are current board members while the latter three agreed to serve if elected. Voters urged to go to the polls Saturday.
