Mutiny Aboard the Medora and a Wrecked Treasure
A lone passenger aboard the Medora witnesses mutinous crew members abandon ship with a bagged treasure as a hurricane drives the steamer toward a reef. Captain Sayles, engineer Sendy McAlpin, and Sandy McAlpin survive and beach near Palm Island to guard the treasure until wreckers arrive, while Elsie Sayles confronts the assembled crew. The tale ends with the captain’s hardened dignity and a quiet, unspoken alliance to recover the gold.
