Kentucky Insurance Rates Spark State Investigation
A probe into Kentucky fire insurance rates finds levels 50 percent to over 200 percent higher than Missouri. In fifth class towns dwelling rates differ sharply, with Kentucky at 75 cents where Missouri is 80 cents, and 1.15 dollars where Missouri is 45 cents for dwellings. business property costs are higher. The case goes to the Court of Appeals with possible new legislation to empower the Insurance Commissioner.
