Mrs Phoebe May Sebeniecher 77 died at her home 515 Blaine St after a long illness. She born Falls City Neb Feb 14 1880 and lived in southwest Iowa 47 years. Survived by six daughters and five sons, 21 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren. Funeral Tuesday 2:30 pm Foster Harmon Williams Mortuary with Rev Vernon Grounds officiating. Interment Clarinda Cemetery.

Man Held After Highway Crash Near Clarinda
Garland Washburn of Shenandoah was jailed after a Saturday night crash on Highway 2 two miles west of Clarinda. He faced charges of failing to have his car under control and driving with a suspended license, was fined ten dollars plus costs, and sentenced to three days in jail.

An air raid Sunday released 300 balloons from an airplane to promote the First Methodist Church rally day in Clarinda. Earl Silver obtained city permission to carry aloft the lot and launch the balloons bearing the message I attended Sunday School. Children recovered balloons and tags after 4 pm and were asked to return them to their Sunday schools next week to boost church group interest.

Elmo native Elmo C Younger died Monday at 3 am at his northeast of Elmo home where he had lived over 62 years. Born May 20 1868 in Boone County near Columbia Mo, he was a longtime farmer and citizen. Survived by wife Ella Fort and four children Howard Rex Eldon Maryville and Faye Moses and many grandchildren. Funeral planned Wednesday at Elmo Methodist Church with burial in Braddyville.
