The Bloodmobile from the Omaha Red Cross region will visit Clarinda on Tuesday Sept 20, receiving donations in City Hall basement from 12 to 6 pm. A quota of 120 pints is set, slightly less than the May 9 drive, with organizers urging pledged donors to keep their commitments and welcoming walk ins.

The teachers reception shifts to September 27, and Kids Day parade plans are under Merle Stevens with a peanut sale on September 30 from 5:30 to 7 pm, followed by a delayed dinner meeting.

Jury Trial Opens Over $50,000 in Clarinda Collision Case
Hazel Mace seeks $50,000 damages in a four-year-old three car crash on Herren's hill east of Clarinda. The petition filed January 9, 1954 accuses Robert L Gray of causing injuries to Mace and her husband Harley Mace with passenger Lawrence Foster killed in the Sept 20, 1952 collision. The trial began in district court Thursday morning.

Father of Esther Dege Buried in Missouri
Charles Dege, 72, died Thursday morning at Lutheran Hospital in Omaha after a heart attack. He lived at the Lutheran Home for the Aged in Omaha. Services were held in Omaha Saturday morning and at St John’s Lutheran Church in Corning Missouri Saturday afternoon. Burial followed at Corning. His daughter Esther of Clarinda survives.
