Damages totaling 22845 are sought in a Page County petition filed in Page County District Court. Leroy Eberly of New Market and Mary Brown of Greenfield sue Mr and Mrs Richard J Lane of Kansas City for negligence after a May 7 crash on Highway 71 seven miles north of Clarinda at 4 pm. Eberly asks 400 for his totaled 1952 Buick, Brown seeks 18845 for injuries including 15000 for future pain and suffering.

A group of local citizens formed the Page County Council for Mature Citizens to promote well being of adults and elderly residents. Legion Swimming Pool Opens Tuesday in Clarinda
The American Legion Pool in Clarinda opens on Tuesday at 1 pm for its 33rd consecutive year as a community recreation facility. Season tickets and single admission rates stay the same. Amy Higgins leads a staff of eight as matron, with Marjorie Lasley acting matron until she returns from Iowa State University next week. Regular lifeguards include Miss Lasley, Barbara Maxwell, John Thompson, and Paul Davis. bathhouse staff are Ricky Pfander and Larry Bridie, with Mrs Allen Akers in the bathhouse. The Pool Committee, chaired by Lyle Fann, highlights an active Legionnaires group assisting season operations.

Interviews with close contacts of an active tuberculosis case have been conducted for weeks. Miss Flossie McBride leads a federally coordinated, Christmas Seal funded case-finding program by the Page County Tuberculosis and Health Association with state health division support. The mobile unit will be at Forest Park Shenandoah on Tuesday June 6 from 8 to 10 am by appointment only, and at City Park Clarinda from 1 to 2 pm by appointment only. Admittance times for school bus drivers are 10 to 10:30 am in Shenandoah and 2 to 2:30 pm in Clarinda.
