Newell F Guernsey Sioux City planning consultant met the City Planning and Zoning Commission to discuss a two to three year program for a comprehensive city plan and zoning ordinance. He outlined citizen participation, showed Spencer plan drawings, and will submit a work and payment schedule by the next meeting. Estimated cost about $5000 with half for expenses.

Taylor Soil District Offers Scholarships for Teachers

Taylor Soil Conservation District offers two $50 scholarships to the first two Taylor County teachers attending the Teachers Conservation Camp at Springbrook Park near Guthrie Center. Three sessions of three weeks each run with tentative dates June 8 June 29 and July 20. Credit includes three semester hours from Iowa State Teachers College. Sixty eight pupils will graduate from Clarinda Junior High School in ceremonies at Garfield School Tuesday at 9 am. Dr J D Almes will give the address. diplomas will be presented by Mrs Frederick Sperry. The program includes band and vocal numbers and is led by Principal Grant Whitney.
