Clarinda High School announced a Friday morning awards list at an assembly. Principal Harold Donelson presented honors across vocational agriculture FHA GAA instrumental and vocal music basketball track and academic categories. Cliff Goecker received the Citizens State Bank Award for outstanding junior vocational agriculture work. Wayne Blume earned the Major Award for most points over four years in vocational agriculture. Goecker also received the Star Award for the current year.

Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony Planned by Clarinda Committee
Clarinda Memorial Committee completes Memorial Day plans. Don Jillson is officer of the day and will lead the march forming at 9 30 am on the east side of the square and moving north on 15th Street then west on 16th to Nishna. Ceremonies at the grave include band numbers invocations and a speaker from Lt Father Eugene Klein. All veterans urged to march in tribute to the armed forces dead.

Clarinda Cardinals sweep Class A title at Ames meet
Clarinda won the Class A Iowa title at Ames scoring 48 points to DeWitt and Denison. Ralph Taylor set pole vault and relay records as four first place marks became state records. Circus Arrives in Plattsmouth Takes Credit for Rain
The A Kelly and Miller Bros circus claimed Monday rain showers as their doing after arriving Sunday night in Plattsmouth Nebraska. They performed at Fairgrounds Park after matinee and evening shows then moved to Bethany Missouri on Tuesday. The herd of 21 elephants was shown at Evans Motor Co and Shetland ponies at Bakers.

Haylift program to supply Page County hay at low cost
Good hay will be available soon for Page County farmers at a price under $10 a ton as part of Gov Leo Hoegh's Haylift plan.
