The Clarinda Board of Education approved moving the Lincoln School kindergarten to Garfield School for the 1958 59 year to free space for an extra first grade room at Lincoln. Transportation will be provided or parents may provide their own, with a morning Lincoln class and an afternoon Garfield class.

Stanton Board of Education plans to take the school district reorganization appeal to Montgomery County District Court. Attorney Herman Walter will file the district court petition this month after a 5-4 vote by Montgomery and Page County boards and subsequent State Board approval. Four Teens Escape Serious Injuries In Highway 71 Crash
Judith Fann, 16, Clarinda drove a 1948 Kaiser sedan with Ed Higgins, 17, Clarinda, Hetty Lindell, 17, Villisca, and Ikavid Hanson, 18, Villisca as passengers. The car skidded left on approach to Nodaway River bridge and ended on its left side. Fann and Higgins were uninjured. Lindell had possible neck injury. Hanson suffered cuts and bruises.

Lonnie Howard reported his trousers were stolen from a chair near a bedroom window Tuesday night. A billfold with about eight dollars vanished from the pocket while he slept, and the pants were later found discarded in the yard. Award Contract For Road Oiling In Page County
The Page County Board of Supervisors awarded the road oiling contract to Shenandoah Construction Co for resurfacing 416.42 miles of trunk roads. The firm bid 145 cents per gallon for 252 000 gallons of asphalt and 500 for 100 000 gallons of water totaling 37 040. Second bid came from Vance Brothers Construction Co of Kansas City Missouri with 1505 cents per gallon. The project must be completed between June 1 and September 1.
