The Aberdeen Angus breeders association held its annual banquet Monday at St Johns Lutheran Church. Iowa beef mouth was served with steak dinners by church ladies. Top breeders sponsored the event with ties among six finalists Darrell Sunderman Orie Steeve Ott Steeve Lawrence Varley Harold Rosenquist John Warren. Officers named Art Johnston president Bob Lynch vice president LeRoy Miller secretary Ott Steeve treasurer Art Wainwright sale committee member. The women's auxiliary met, with Mrs Charles Schilb president. Music by Mrs Darrell Sunderman. Arden Aegerter, Corn Belt Dailies field man, gave the main talk. Gilbert Sunderman Eugene Rope performed a skit. Shenandoah High School student gave a chalk talk.

At a special meeting the Clarinda school board voted to purchase furniture for the two first grade rooms and kindergarten at the new McKinley building. They will order twenty four 24 by 48 inch plastic top tables and eighty chairs from Klipto Loose Seat Co. Also buying Peabody desks and chairs for the new building from Latta School Supply Co. Remaining furnishing funds capped around 1800 dollars. They also discussed paving and water service extensions to the site with a city-paved plan and letters to the city council. The board approved purchasing two double unit sewing machines for the high school homemaking department at Shenandoah for 200 dollars, trading in seven old machines. A used baritone horn was approved for purchase from Robert.

Lions Ladies Night Canceled to Elect Officers
