Graduation exercises for 76 Taylor county rural eighth grade pupils will be held in the Bedford High School Auditorium Saturday at 1 am. Prof Everett Brown of Northwest Missouri State college will give the address. Diplomas and awards will be presented by Supt Whitaker. Valedictorian is Marilyn Miller. salutatorian Naomi Morehouse. New Cycloramic Curtains Debut at Clarinda High
Debut of the modern curtains at Clarinda High School tonight features an all-speech program at 8 pm in the auditorium. The $1395 installation was funded half by school funds and half by the senior and junior classes along with student groups. Fred Rhoads directs, with contestants who earned 1 ratings in the Ottumwa state contest and two one-act plays, including a state winner.

Incorrect bid prices on county road work corrected

Red Cross drive falls short of goal in East Page County
The East Page County Red Cross chapter's appeal raised funds but missed its drive goal by 2500 dollars. Two donations from Clarindans were recorded along with a local list of contributors including L E Finley and Mrs H E McKeown. The chapter remains 2464 dollars short and urges further community gifts to avoid curtailing local services.

Funeral held for Mrs W Tally 70 in Clarinda area
Funeral service for Mrs W D Tally 70 was held Monday at Walker Funeral Home. She died Saturday after two weeks in Municipal hospital. Roy Lester Greenwood led the service. Burial followed in Clarinda cemetery. Survived by husband and 12 children. Six miles southeast of Clarinda is the Tally home.

Pagemere Farms owners Leroy Miller Ed Fulk Ben Goecker and Neil Johnston form a cooperative Angus breeding group in Page County Iowa. They meshed small herd attention with large unit volume buying top bulls from lines including Hopley of Atlantic Iowa and Muskogee Oklahoma. A six month old bull sold to Bell Sons of Osceola for 500 dollars headed their purebred effort. The cooperative aims to combine personal care with high class bulls and big herd power as it builds on early embryo-stage work and includes notable Indiana and Iowa connections. A blue ribbon calf from the initial sire highlighted their rising success at the Iowa State Fair.
