Eight Clarinda rabbit breeders scored at the Maryville two day Northwest Missouri show with 259 entries. Robert Blackman of Lewis and Don Guthrie of Mount Ayr took first and second for best Dutch display, Guthrie winning English class. Harold Murren of Clarinda claimed a first and upper placings with American Heavyweight Chinchillas. Wayne Fuller finished third with New Zealand Reds and Chinchillas, Ken Goff third with New Zealand Red buck, Richard Graham first and second with Black and White Dutch and fourth with Red buck. The club eyes spring events including Pony Express Show April 6-8 and Des Moines show April 8, with Clarinda spring show April 28-29 at Youth Barn, Fairgrounds Park.

Cardinal Capers Wow Audiences With Bushey Night show
A packed school auditorium enjoyed the Cardinal Capers first performance a fast moving mix of music comedy dance and stage stunts directed by Richard Mowery assisted by Mrs Nancy Stillians and Mrs Peggy Hit. Emcee Jon Spunangle handled every moment as a dozen pit musicians backed acts ranging from hillbilly to ballet with 70 on stage at the finale. The show featured Oddie Arnett Joan Bennett Kathy Mealey Jan Brayman Carla Renz Haxby and Steeve Seth McGrighy and a student chorus and Cardettes finalizing in a black light presentation. Proceeds finance the band trip to Iowa State College Weisha in May netting $91.

Theatre picks film for senior class benefit four nights
