Spring Musicale Show Delights With Four Vocal Scenes
Four vocal groups perform in an hour long free Spring Festival Musicale at the Clarinda High School auditorium directed by Vea Crow. The program features a Boys Glee Club church scene Girls Glee Club garden party Mixed Chorus night scene and a finale arrangement of Blue Moon. Connie Kryselmire leads a ballet troupe appearing in garden and night scenes with soloists Tom Lee Dave Roberts and others and Rosita Planting handles art while Norman Buesing manages the stage. The event follows the Queen of the Spring crowning and is part of a free program sponsored by the Clarinda Chamber of Commerce Retail Committee.

George Warneke Services Tuesday
George Warneke 59 died Saturday at his home 1222 FE Chestnut St after a four month illness. He was born in Hardegsen Germany and came to the United States at age six. He lived in the Clarinda area most of his life, served in Canada with the Canadian army in World War I, and belonged to St John’s Lutheran Church. Surviving are two brothers Henry Warneke of Clarinda and Pred Warneke. three sisters Mrs Clarinda, Mrs Helen Sheridan and Mrs Hermine LeTourneau, all of Detroit. Funeral services Tuesday at 2 pm at Foster Harmon Williams Mortuary with Rev W H Discher officiating. Interment in Clarinda Cemetery.
