National Honor Society assembly highlights four qualities
The National Honor Society held an assembly in the auditorium on Wednesday March 15. Dennis Holbrook explained the four qualities for membership scholarship character leadership and service. Four students lit the candles for each quality and 14 new members joined while 11 existing members retained their status. A junior class play The Night of January 16 directed by Barbara Harvey was performed in the auditorium on Monday and Tuesday. The Y Teen dance Spring Fever is planned for Friday at Garfield gym with casual dress and salacious refreshments. A Youth for Christ meeting was held at Faith and Jimmy Hicks home with Joyce Ann Stimson Verlin Elmore and John Harrell participating and a film ordered for the next meeting on March 29.

Inda Clar Flyers elect new officers at annual meeting
The Inda Clar Flyers held their corporation annual meeting at the Municipal Airport on Wednesday night. Donald Johnson was elected president, with Charles Johnson as vice president and Dr Ralph Meng as secretary treasurer, Sydney Scott as assistant. Ken Nixon and Ken Mace retired from their posts. The group voted to raise the hourly rate for Tri Pacers from six to seven dollars due to higher insurance and maintenance costs.

Must for all of us to support cancer society crusade
Crusade chairwoman Mrs Harry Salomon of East Page County says funds from the annual Cancer Crusade are insufficient to move planned cancer research from drawing board to action. National giving averages $30 million yearly, not enough to cover all approved projects. the society currently funds 651 grants at $17,661,470 with more money needed to expand support and meet musts set by scientists.

Miss Carol Stine of Oakland a 1960 International Farm Youth Exchange delegate to Germany will guest speak at the Taylor County 4-H Girls Mother-Daughter Tea.
