Seniors raise 380 for Clarinda Chicago trip
Clarinda High School seniors have raised 380 toward a 1000 goal for a three day Skip Day visit to Chicago. About 70 to 75 seniors plan to go by chartered bus with dates kept secret. If the goal is met they stay three days. otherwise two. Faculty chaperones will accompany the trip.

Methodists Recommending Ministers To Return For Next Year
The First Methodist Church held its final quarterly conference with Dr Claude Cooper district superintendent. The Official Board adopted a resolution asking the annual conference to return Rev Lester Greenwood and Rev Wauneta McConnell to Clarinda for another year. McConnell also serves Shambaugh. The “fill a pew” plan raised morning service attendance about 70 percent. Seven members have entered full time Christian service in seven years. Installations for new officers and commissions begin June 1.

Clarity College Dean Named to Iowa Study Committee
James Browning, dean of Clarin da Junior College, was named by the public junior colleges of Iowa to represent them on a Study Committee on Higher Education in Iowa. The 138-member panel includes public and private colleges to assess rising student enrollments and overall college capacity. Methodist Men Plan Supper and Election Evening

Junior Delegates Debate On Lowering Voting Age

Delegates from 20 of Page County's 26 Republican precincts met at the Courthouse to elect 37 delegates to the state presidential convention at Veterans Auditorium. The group will perform the first concert at 3 pm and return Wednesday after the State Junior College Vocal Music Festival in Marshalltown Tuesday. Choir director Nelson Crow and his wife chaperone.
