Inter-Church Basketball Season Concludes With Westminster Dominance
Ten weeks of inter-church basketball across three age groups ended Saturday. Westminster United Presbyterian led 5-6, junior high, and high school brackets with strong records while Trinity, Methodist, Assembly of God, and First Christian League clubs posted varied results. A banquet on March 13 at First Christian Church will honor participants. Rev M L McFarland will speak at 6:30 PM.

Funeral for Paul Hunter Held in Omaha Monday
Paul Hunter, a former county engineer's office employee in the mid 1940s, died in Omaha Saturday from a heart condition. Funeral services were set for 11 am Tuesday at a Baptist Church in Omaha with relatives from Shenandoah and nearby areas attending. He was aged and survived by a wife and three daughters. he previously worked as a civil engineer for the Union Pacific Railroad and studied at Iowa State College in Ames, with summers in Page County.

County 4-H Exchange Plans For Summer Visit
Page County 4-H plans a second exchange with Tennessee and Kentucky for older members this summer. Tennessee offers Bristol Pulaski and Murfreesboro while Kentucky proposes Owensboro. Three Teenagers Hurt in Highway 48 Crash
Three teens were hospitalized after a late Friday crash on Highway 48 north of Essex. Driver Perry Foster 19 of Mound City Missouri lost control on a curve. the 1955 Ford was demolished after traveling 960 feet and shedding guard rail posts. Sharon Gray 18 of Red Oak and Jim Hicks accompanied Foster with injuries ranging from lacerations to possible internal trauma. Foster faced a charge of failure to have the vehicle under control.
