Ardith Herzberg Named FFA Sweetheart at Clarinda

Ardith Herzberg was named FFA Sweetheart in a Friday assembly. Neil Johnston explained the scoring basis. Charles Dunn presented a white jacket. Ardith, from a north Clarinda farm, participates in many activities and clubs. The issue describes upcoming school events and student achievements, including play, band, carnival planning, and intramural sports.

HEBURN Notes and Local Visits Amid Winter Repairs

Fred Seaburg of Fort Morgan Colorado joined Mr and Mrs John Crain for a trip to Westboro Missouri visiting Clarence Hall. Red Cross Coffee at Linderman Hotel. Martha Ann Winter joined Clarinda Junior College Choir for a three state tour including Hamburg Sidney and towns in Kansas and Nebraska. Charles English and Wm Washburn visited Florence Robinson and Fred Graham. A L Voorhies weekend in Des Moines. Town orders rock resurfacing after severe winter. Fire at Stanton causes about ten thousand dollars loss in Nyman Rural Electrification Cooperative basement. Stanton firemen contained it.

Taylor County Fair Plans Centennial July 30 to August 2

Minor accident near Blanchard in Nebraska township

In Blanchard two cars sideswiped as Richard Braman, home on leave from Germany, turned into a driveway two miles south of town. No injuries, minor damage. Public Meeting on Reorganization Set at New Market

The New Market Board of Education calls a public meeting on March 14 at 8 pm in the New Market School House to discuss forming a New Market Community School District. Officials will present pupil counts valuation and millage figures and county educators and the district attorney will attend.

Coin students win honors in Scholastic Art Awards

Two Coin Schools pupils are honored in the Scholastic Art Awards with displays at Younkers in Des Moines. Phillip Whitmore won the Golden Key Achievement Award and will have his entry sent to the national exhibit. Linda Lavely, a first time contestant, has artwork on display in the senior high division.

College Choir Heads Large Task for State JC Vocal Festival

The Clarinda College Choir coordinates 10 committees for the Iowa State Junior College Vocal Festival on March 18 with Dean Kenagy as president. A public concert will cap the event at First Christian Church at 7 30 pm. Lodging, transportation, registration, programs, and the coffee hour are organized by named student leaders and faculty coordinators across several communities.
