Russ Katzenbarger rolled 244 at Clarinda Bowl on Tuesday as a likely favorite for the July trophy from Bob Isom. MK Stahnke from Kansas City then jumped to 248 on Wednesday. Carl Pressly 72 longtime College Springs barber died at his Ottumwa home on Wednesday. Survived by wife Carolyn a daughter Mrs Maxine Morse of Angola Indiana and sister Miss Florence Pressly of Shenandoah. The 17 mile stretch from Clarinda to Shenandoah finished a 24-foot concrete widening last Saturday with minor touch ups until Tuesday. Final pouring occurred near Yorktown four corners as Booth & Olson Construction moves to Sibley for highways 33 and 9. Page county work began June 11 removing curbs to join a 3 foot wider extension and drivers report a smoother ride than elsewhere in the state. Shoulder construction followed quickly and the section should finish soon.

Second Y Day Camp Opens With Crafts and Treats
