Son of minister dies in Illinois
Ray M Davis Jr 29 of Rockford Illinois died Friday afternoon of cancer after hospitalization since June 27. He was the son of Dr and Mrs Ray M Davis of College Springs. Surviving are his wife Clarice two sons Randy and Jeffrey a sister Mrs Vincent McCowen of Waterloo. Friends from College Springs attended the funeral in Rockford Illinois.

Falling Hay Lift Injures Farm Worker Near Blanchard

Large barn burns near Hopkins after lightning strike
A lightning strike on the Dennis Jeffers farm six miles northwest of Hopkins ignited a large barn and corn crib. The barn burned to the ground and about 500 bales of hay were destroyed in the blaze reported by the Maryville Forum.
