The new municipal sewage plant near the airport begins processing Friday with George Dosier operating the plant. City Manager J M van Deusen says the $230,000 facility is largely complete with minor installations remaining.

Final totals show Weare New Market 81 and opponents 79 in a tense championship game with strong rebounds and defensive hustle throughout.
Three deaths in Braddyville in three days mark the passing of long time residents. Funeral plans include Sam Gray 88, Mrs Lettie Walker 90s, WC Myron 55, and Lette Martin widow of Lee Martin, with services set across Braddyville and nearby Clearmont, Missouri. Surviving families and burial sites listed among local obituaries.
Omaha area square core callers association hosts a polio benefit dance with proceeds to the March of Dimes. Two callers will lead the event at the Livertgck Exchange, dates to be announced. several local couples have indicated attendance. Over 35 volunteers have signed up for the third annual polio benefit dance.
A Sunday morning blaze at Ansel Lyons farm near Bedford destroyed the barn and contents. Losses include six tractors, some new, a new wagon and chopper, hay and straw totaling about 1000 bales, pig pellets, and other implements. The farm is owned by Mrs Stlaa Rows.
