The United Presbyterian Church annual meeting elected new session members Ross Miller WG Dunn Douglas Winter and J Will Anderson to replace retiring members. Hopkins Man Dies After Truck Collision
Benjamin Franklin Huffman a 72 year old Hopkins pensioner is listed as Northwest Missouri s first 1956 traffic fatality. He died three hours after colliding with a loaded stock truck on Highway 27 in Hopkins around 6 pm January 4 according to the Maryville Daily Forum.

Lyle M Cassat of Clarinda will be honored at Parsons College first Alumni Honors Convocation in Fairfield. In 1955 Page County recorded 197 marriage licenses and 38 divorces in District Court, showing more marriages than divorces.
