James A Howard of Shenandoah, former Page County attorney, faces a district court trial on operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. He was arrested Thursday at about 3 pm and released on a $500 appearance bond. Judgments totaling $1,273.78 are sought in three Page County District Court petitions filed last week for debts and liens including hospital charges and home repairs.

Services Held Monday for J C Morrison
Funeral services were conducted at First Presbyterian Church for J C Morrison a retired farmer who died Sunday at 12 35 am at Municipal Hospital. Morrison 67 had lived in Clarinda Iowa 67 years and was custodian of Lincoln School for 17 years known as Uncle Joe. Surviving are two daughters Fether Fae and Mrs Oleva Myers, a brother Charles and three grandsons. Rev D C Davie officiated with interment at Summit Cemetery Yorktown. Walker Funeral Home in charge.

Four More Minor Accidents Reported in Clarinda Skirmishes
Clarinda police logged three accidents Thursday morning and another Saturday night. Richard Warneke 18 drove a 1951 Plymouth involved in a collision with Floyd Lewis 61 at 10th and Chesnut. Damage totaled about $97 from a hit and run to James Maxwell’s parked car. Roy Hazelton 47 and Marion Young collided at 8 10 am on Division and 15th with damages to Hazelton’s 1950 Chevrolet pickup and Young’s 1952 Studebaker. A Saturday 10 15 pm crash at 6th and Washington between Richard Scott 19 and Alfred Schmidt 18 led to extensive damage. both were fined for defective brakes.

Four Clarinda firefighters were dispatched to the Delbert Rupp farm home four miles east of Clarinda in Nebraska Township Saturday evening. Minor damage resulted from a burned out flu in the home, according to on duty fireman Robert Brayman. The New Market fire department truck answered the call.

The Clarinda Recreation Center hosted a week of holiday events in Foster Park led by Miss Agnes Irwin.
