Clarinda and Page counties rally for a statewide Safe Driving Day on Wednesday to set a clean record with no traffic accidents. Turner, Page County safety chairman, urges all residents to participate, highlighting the goal as a major step in accident prevention.
District court heard four petitions on Wednesday. Edward P Patch of Clarinda seeks 2000 in damages from Raymond Patch after alleged injuries from a car collision near the courthouse. Patch claims severe contusions and a chipped shoulder blade, with ongoing inability to work. Frank J Hilgerson petitions against Verne M Hilgerson for 400 in a note default. Miss T Whitmore 48 died Tuesday after illness in Kansas City. Funeral services were at Coin Methodist church with burial in Elmwood cemetery. Survived by mother and brother Elton of Lexington Kentucky and two nephews. Services were led by Dr Wen Hidpath and Rev Herbert Thomas. memorials requested to Methodist church district in Kansas City.

The Clarinda Junior College night class choral group recorded a Christmas Eve program under director Mrs Bruce Grossman. The adult course singers rehearsed over several weeks and performed with soloist Mrs Orville Swanson, a former member, at Tarkio College.
