Candy Truck Mishap Halts Near City Limits
A candy truck veered off in the early hours near the 16th and Stuart crossing, its axle damaged and front duals flung forward. The vehicle struck Evans Motor windows, sending both drivers scrambling. Mrs McGhoghy, en route as a county speaker, suffered only minor injuries in a separate head on collision with an Omaha car driven by KD Williams. Williams sustained a neck injury yet returned home. Mrs McGhahy was hospitalized for examination in Clarinda. Ted Poteet arrives soon to assume duties as chamber of commerce secretary after relocating from Excelsior Springs.

Car collision on highway near Shambaugh injures two trucks
A car collision Tuesday night on the highway south of Shambaugh involved a high car and two trucks. The car touched the rear truck, veered and struck the second. The driver Coy Wan was fined $25 in justice court for failure to yield by a state patrolman.

Funeral Services Planned Friday for Mrs Vina Pratt
Funeral services will be held Friday at Walker Funeral Home for Mrs Vina Pratt. Rev DC Davie to conduct the service with burial at Clarinda Cemetery. Mrs Pratt, who lived in Clarinda for 47 years, died Wednesday morning after three days in Municipal Hospital. Survivors include three daughters and other relatives.
