Four Boys Paroled After Theft of Pool Equipment
Four boys aged 14 to 17 charged with stealing the Shenandoah pool public address system were paroled Saturday morning to their parents and then to a state parole officer. They had been in county jail on $500 bonds after appearing before Judge Harold E Davidson with County Attorney Max Turner. Names listed: Richard L O'Day, Robert Jensen, Paul Schram and George Scheller. Also, Jesse T McCrary was fined $300 and costs for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated after pleading guilty before Judge Davidson.

Funeral Services For Mrs Stanley Hansen Held Sunday
Funeral services for Mrs Stanley Hansen were conducted at the Methodist church in College Springs with Rev William Samuels officiating. Burial followed at Maple Hill cemetery. Stevenson Funeral service handled arrangements. Mrs Hansen, 54, died Friday evening at Municipal hospital in Clarinda after years of poor health. Survivors include her husband and two sons, Bill Hansen of California and John Burch of Cumberland, Iowa.

Proceeds from pop and ice cream sales at the Page County fair totaled 152.23 after expenses. Clarinda Lions Club president Jim Browning announced a 125 donation to the Junior parente program for this summer. Mascher family halts farm fire near Hepburn
The George Maschers stopped a farm blaze Saturday afternoon at a chicken house near Hepburn. Mr Mascher spotted smoke while in town and, with son Fred, used an extinguisher and garden hose to confine the fire. Villisca firefighters arrived promptly and finished extinguishing the flames.

Wreck blocks highway near Snake Creek bridge
Saturday night a Har grove semi-trailer ran out of control and ended across the paving near the Snake Creek bridge six miles west of Clarinda. Rain blamed by Sheriff Ed Hipsley caused the mishap. Three wreckers arrived to pull the empty asphalt transport back onto the road, blocking Highway 2 for about three and a half hours from 7:30 to 11 p.m.
