James W Fouth faces trial for second offense OMVI after Wednesday Shenandoah arrest. He waived hearing and posted 750 bond to await trial. James J Hale of St Louis pled guilty to OMVI in Saturday session, fined 300 plus costs, held on balance of 50 days in jail if unpaid. Clark H Gore paid 200 fine after pleading guilty to indecent exposure, apprehended in Shenandoah car in July.

Police report four Omaha youths ages 17 to 18 held in Shenandoah on charges of breaking into the local pool and theft of the public address system Saturday night. Investigators say they were found in the pool area with suspicious items and were taken into custody.

William L Moore age 81 died at Municipal hospital at 11 55 pm Sunday after eight days as a patient. Born in County Antrim Ireland he came to the United States 63 years ago and lived in Page county before moving near New Market five years ago. Survived by wife Elizbeth Caskey Moore two daughters Mary Ellen Whitney and Catherine Pauline one son Raymond Leslie a brother Sam Moore and a sister Margaret Caskey. Services Wednesday at 2 pm at Reformed Presbyterian church with Dr C T Carson officiating burial Covenanter cemetery.

Cars Collide Near Coin Leave Two Minor Injuries
A Sunday night crash occurred about 9:15 at a hilltop location a mile and a half north of Coin. Mrs Yvonne Tritsch 22 of Coin drove a 1954 Chevrolet and Theodore Lubbin 64 of College Springs drove a 1936 Dodge. Both escaped serious harm and were released from Clarinda Municipal Hospital. Sheriff Ed Hipsley noted extensive damage to both vehicles.

Safe stolen from Falk Tractor Company in Essex
A safe and contents were stolen Wednesday night from the office of the Falk Tractor company in Essex. The safe was found Thursday morning broken open near a bridge north of town. The haul included over 600 dollars and a $2,500 check among the scattered items. Sheriff Ed Hipsley said the safe appeared peeled open after entry through a back window around midnight.

City Council Adopts Budget in 1955 Resolution
Clarinda City Council met Friday evening and adopted the 1955 budget. A transfer of part of the Airport Development fund balance to the Debt Service fund was debated with Councilman Don Jillson supporting the move but voting against the budget, which passed 3 to 1. Fire alarm system plans and future water and sewer line policy were also discussed. Wayne Fuller and Art Kelley attended. No decision made.

Fourteen 4-H teams from county 4-H clubs competed in the Iowa State Fair selection held at the new 4-H building. The senior winners included a team from Lump and another from the Essex Whirlwinds earning red ribbons and state bids for Building a Ventilating Fan and Building a Poultry Feeder. Record sale total of 24504 dollars and 65 cents paid to Page county junior exhibitors for beef cattle hogs and lambs at the Clarinda Auction Co. sale. High price steer went to Ed Winter Hepburn at 28 dollars per cwt and was bought by the Clarinda Super Valu. Hogs averaged 23.98 and lambs 26.25 with multiple local buyers including Swift Co Morrell Packing Co Radio Yards and Super Valu among others. Auctioneers Stickelman Crawford and assistants led the sale.

Three Guardsmen Hurt in Minnesota Truck Accident
