Winners of fair tractor rodeo show skilled farm youths
Warren Renander won first place in Tuesday's tractor rodeo at the fair. Larry Blair took third place senior, Lloyd Coulter placed, while juniors Merle Mellencamp, Nile McCoy, and Ron Wagoner earned top spots. Twenty-two youths competed and Renander advances to the Iowa State Fair state contest.

Clarinda attorney Kent Thornell was injured in a car collision on Highway 71 north of Kansas City Missouri. His right knee cap was broken after another car pulled into his path.
